Rainbow Over Lahaina This is my signature landscape portrait. I photographed this on film in 1987, during one of my first trips to Maui before I moved here in 1998. This was B.D. (Before Digital)! I went to Lanai on an all day trip and sailed back. It was a perfect day on the waters of Maui. When we sailed into Lahaina Harbor, with the music of Maxi Priest playing on board, this beautiful rainbow appeared over The West Maui Mountains. It was a once in a lifetime moment, and in the 28 years since, I have never seen this same scene or have it even come close. This image is just how it was captured. Sunset Pizza On The Beach Wouldn't you enjoy this in your kitchen or restaurant? Minimum size: 16x24. It would be beautiful with a metallic finish or as a Canvas Gallery wrap. Neither one would require a frame. Standard mounting is also available. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Aloha Sun I was driving down my street in Kihei, to go home and looked across to see the fabulous sunset. I'm so thankful I had my camera with me. The sunset is completely un-re-touched. The only thing I did was add the AL HA to it to create Aloha. The minimum size is: 16x24. It looks fabulous with a Metallic surface and on a stand out back. No frame needed! How about a little ALOHA for your home/office? E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Makena Sunset in January My plan was to go photograph the enormous January swell. The waves were great, but, I was able to get an angle of Molokini and Pu'u Olai -Otherwise know as La Perouse. The bay is actually La Perouse but the "mountain" is a cinder cone Pu'u Olai (Red Hill). E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image Minimum size: 16x24 |
A Little Bit of Maui Countryside It was one of those unplanned days, just got in the car and decided to see where the road would take me. I decided to head up to Haleakala National Park. But along the way in Kula, I found this fence. I have always been attracted to fences, and felt this one was very interesting with the beautiful view of Maui below, E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image Minimum size: 16x24 |

Three Whales Look close- Mama, Baby and Daddy. Whale season is from the end of November until the end of April. Every February, Maui celebrates Whale day. Parades of whales and other ocean friends go down South Kihei Road. There are activities all over the island including musicians, and even a Whale Regatta - Little rubber whales race on a watercourse. On this particular year Whale day occurred on Valentines Day. My daughter, Melissa, took me out for a whale watch and we saw this group of whales. What an exciting experience to see a family of whales! Whale Breeching The very same Whale Day, this beautiful whale breeched just feet away from our boat. I was photographing another whale at a distance with my telephoto lens, when I turned to see this magnificent creature. My camera lens was actually too long. So here I am scrambling to change lenses to my regular 24-105 lens. I just couldn't believe how close this whale was! E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Up-Country Paniolo I love this because it shows one of the hidden hearts of Maui. Paniolo-is cowboy. Many who are not familiar with all of Maui may say "Cowboys in Maui?" Oh Yes! Ulupalakua Ranch is 18,000 acres in size and much of it is dedicated to raising cattle and growing grapes for the Tedeschi Winery. During a visit back to California my dad took me to a steakhouse and he said "I bet you haven't had a good steak since you moved to Maui" I then told him about our cattle. He now enjoys coming here for a good steak, or and Elk burger with a glass of Pineapple Wine! E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |
The Kai Kanani As many of you know, I am very proud of my daughter, Melissa (Captain Mel) as she became one of the captains of The Kai Kanani in 2007. This is a 64 foot sailing catamaran built in St. Croix. She helped with sailing it back to Maui. I actually watched her going through the Panama Canal on web cam. It's a beautiful boat with a fantastic crew. If you are ever in Maui again, or if you live here, be sure to take the time to enjoy a snorkel or sunset cruise. You board right from the shore (not the harbor), in Makena, South Maui. I photographed this one evening when also photographing a family portrait session and the boat came right up behind us. Melissa and the crew are pretty good about trying to bring the boat in closer for portrait sessions. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Maui Surfboard Fence The owners of the house started collecting surfboards years ago and attached them to their fence. Surfers then started donating their used boards to add to the collection. There are now about 400 surfboards! E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |
Maui Jacaranda These beautiful purple flowered trees are most prominent in March and April. I went on a drive one day with my friend, Maureen. We were on our own photo safari of Up-Country Maui. These trees are found mostly in Kula because the weather is ideal. It is quite a bit cooler with more rain in the Kula area. Every year, people drive from all over the island to photograph and paint these gorgeous trees. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Lahaina Harbor A group of photographers and I went out on a walk through Lahaina. Our mission was just to enjoy the day and photograph what we wanted. Nice assignment! Seeing as how I'm all about boats, this is one I decided to play. I hope you like my rendition. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |
Plumeria I photographed this on my first trip to Maui in 1986 with my friend, Michelle. We took a day trip to Hana and saw this beautiful Plumeria tree. We were such silly girls and didn't understand what the trip to Hana was all about. So, in case you've never taken the drive, here is the secret answer: it's all about the journey not the destination. Take your time and appreciate the little things and the big. They may be hidden and if you go too fast, or are in a hurry to get back to your hotel, you'll miss the true beauty of East Maui. About this image, I have added some special effects to enhance specific areas. This is beautiful stretched on canvas. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Sunset Beach -North Shore Oahu I went to Oahu last year for a family portrait session. Usually, when I go to Oahu, it's for business and I come right home. This time, I had to stay over, do to flight schedules, so I decided to explore some other parts of the island than Waikiki and the malls. I put the car in auto pilot very early in the early morning and Sunset Beach is where I stopped. I didn't even know it was the world famous Sunset Beach at first but found it to be such a beautiful place. This surfer walked into my frame when I didn't expect him-but I'm glad he did. Mailboxes On The Back Road A friend, another photographer, was visiting here and we went for a drive taking the back-road to Hana. It was fun taking a day trip with someone else who had the same passion for photography as I, and I didn't have to drive! Being in a convertible and not driving, I had great visual field. So we're driving along and had just passed these broken mailboxes, and I Yelled, STOP! He said "What did you see?" ...Only another photographer would not panic when I yelled, and knew it was a photo op we had just passed. I told him to back up, we did, and got out. I pulled out my camera and caught this. He then grabbed his camera and did the same. I had driven by this spot many times and never saw it. I'm always the driver. So had it not been for my friend driving I may never have seen this. Thanx ET! E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Wailea Palms It was one of those special evenings in Wailea. I had just finished a family portrait session, put away my camera and gear, turned around and the sky just lit up like a light bulb went on. I pulled out the camera and caught these beautiful Wailea palms. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

Sailboat Races in Santa Cruz I recently visited my hometown of Santa Cruz California. It was a great week of not your typical class reunion. After-all we were from Santa Cruz! This is at the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. There were sailboat races. This is the end of the sailboat race as they came into the harbor. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |
Poppies Poppies are a rare find in Maui. I'm not sure if they usually grow here, but I came across a patch of them in a remote area of Kula. I think the seeds were smuggled in here. I was very happy to have found them however. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |

High Surf in South Maui The south side of Maui is one of the most scenic area of the island. When we get a high surf advisory from the weather service, for south facing shores, it's a calling to me to take off into the care to find the perfect waves. For me, it's with my camera, for others, it's with surfboards. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |
South Maui Surf With An Edge This is another scene in Makena, but with this I used High Dynamic Range filtering to give it the extra edge and a different look. E-mail Kimberly if you are interested in purchasing this image |
